Strengthening
the Dancer's Core |
| Ariellah's
workshop will focus on strengthening the core of the dancer's
body. Building strength in the legs, abs, chest and arms
will enhance the dancer's fluidity. Strength also allows
the dancer to execute difficult movements safely and beautifully;
in a way that is not harmful or damaging to the body. Strengthening
certain muscles also aids the dancer in isolations and layering
effects. The workshop will include extensive stretching
and strengthening exercises, and students will learn to
fine tune, drill and improve chest and hip isolations, as
well as strengthen their arm movements. These techniques
will be incorporated into a short choreography.
